Biocolor was initially a spin-out company from Queen’s University Belfast.  We have been designing and developing dye-based assays and distributing them worldwide since 1992.

We distribute life science assays to universities and medical research institutes around the world.

Our assays use dyes that bind to natural polymers such as complex carbohydrate, peptides and proteins. The process usually requires isolation of the target molecule or selectively altering the dye binding reaction conditions. We have produced a range of novel assays for microgram detection and measurement levels.

We are located in Northern Ireland in the small town of Carrickfergus, 20 km north of Belfast. The town is of note for its fine Norman Castle, and being the home of Biocolor!
